The 2022 Kia Carnival is an all-new model for Kia. This new stylish minivan offers modern styling, features, and technology to compete in a segment with tough competitors such as the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, and Chrysler Pacifica.
A powerful 3.5-litre V6 powers the 2022 Kia Carnival, delivering a stout 290 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive (FWD), the Carnival offers a smooth ride and balanced handling, taking corners with ease and cruising in comfort. The Carnival has the capability to tow up to 1,587 kg and gets a respectable 12.0 L/100km city and 8.9 L/100km highway fuel economy.
Modern and accommodating, the interior of the 2022 Kia Carnival is built for luxury and comfort. Replicating Kia's Telluride SUV interior, the Carnival features a large centre console and optional dual-screen infotainment system with digital gauge display. In terms of comfort, the Carnival offers plenty of room for all passengers in its convenient seating arrangement. The second row can even be equipped with footrests so passengers can kick back and enjoy total relaxation. With a stretched wheelbase and overall length compared to the Sedona minivan, the Carnival offers 1,139 litres of cargo capacity behind the third row and 4,110 litres when both the second and third row are folded. Kia upgraded its connectivity equipment in the all-new Carnival, including optional dual 12.3-inch displays that stretch across two-thirds of the van's dashboard. A single 8.0-inch display is standard, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are added to all trim levels, and drivers can add up to nine USB ports across the cabin to improve connectivity and charging.
Kia offers the 2022 Carnival in five trim levels across Canada:
While all models of the Carnival offer a plethora of standard features and technologies, the mid-level EX trim provides the sweet combination of features and price. It includes several convenience features that help to justify the cost of upgrading, including a power-operated rear liftgate, an in-cabin intercom, wireless phone charging, and advanced driver-assist technologies such as blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, and advanced smart cruise control.
